An Open Water Swim in Support of World Drowning Prevention Day

 Three Races. One Day. Two Champions.

Join us at beautiful Reposoir Beach for a unique open water swimming challenge featuring three back-to-back races:

5 km | 3 km | 1 km

Swimmers may enter one distance, two distances, or take on the ultimate test — all three.

The male and female swimmers with the fastest combined time across all three races will be crowned the Champions for Water Safety.


EVENT PURPOSE

This event is held in recognition of World Drowning Prevention Day (25 July) and aims to promote water safety awareness.

Throughout the day, the beach will host informational booths and community partners, including international and local organizations working in water safety and humanitarian response, as well as selected vendors.

The event is open to the public and designed to be both competitive and spectator-friendly.


COURSE

The race will take place on a clearly marked 1 km loop course starting and finishing at Reposoir Beach.

  • 5 km = 5 laps

  • 3 km = 3 laps

  • 1 km = 1 lap

The course will be monitored by motorized safety boats, paddle craft, and certified safety personnel.

WETSUIT POLICY

Wetsuits are permitted.

Wetsuit swimmers will appear in the official results, and rankings will indicate wetsuit participation. Podium awards are reserved for non-wetsuit swimmers.


PARTICIPATION LIMITS

To ensure a safe and high-quality event experience, participation is limited to a maximum of 100 swimmers per distance, including relay participants.

Relay entries are limited and subject to availability within the overall event capacity.

Registration will close once capacity is reached.


ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

  • All swimmers must be confident in open water conditions.

  • Participants must read and agree to the official Rules & Terms and sign a liability waiver during registration.

  • The event may be modified, delayed, or cancelled due to weather, water conditions, or safety concerns.

Entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organizers.


REGISTRATION AGREEMENTS

By registering for this event and clicking “I Agree,” participants confirm that:

  • They have read and understood the event rules and terms.

  • They acknowledge the risks associated with open water swimming.

  • They are medically fit to participate.

  • They release the organizers from liability to the extent permitted by law.
